Custom build your own video game! This is a two week summer camp experience. We will hold class Monday through Thursday from 9am-Noon for two weeks. That's TWO WHOLE WEEKS OF GAMING! This is a great camp for a beginner or someone who took some of the gaming camps last year.

Custom build your own video game! You will learn how to create menus, an overworld map, custom characters, how to make those characters speak, fight, create a following party, how to add assets, music and sounds and so much more in this fun, interactive experience.

Make custom art in special programs and learn how to import into games! We will be using a combination of Illustrator, Art, and pre-made art to learn about game design composition, color pallets, and character designs to create personal experiences.

Also included is a little bit of programming! We'll be using Java Script to make a custom game, use scripts to make advances events, and learning how to properly utilize plug-ins. You'll learn how to translate programming into real language that can be used across various platforms.

Registration will close one week prior to the start of the workshop to prep all materials. A detailed email will specifics will be emailed to each registered participant spelling out details for the workshop. Please check your email for details! Minimum age requirement is 8 years of age. Participants MUST have basic computer skills, such as using a mouse, moving around a website as well as being able to work independently while the instructor is helping other students. No prior software knowledge is required to participate,, just an eagerness to learn and a positive attitude! Please email fablab@lakemichigancollege.edu with any questions.

The Fab Lab at Lake Michigan College is an open access digital fabrication studio and collaborative workshop. We provide access to information, tools, software and space for anyone who has an interest to learn and create. The Fab Lab provides open access to design software, laser cutters, 3D printers, vinyl cutters, woodshop, sewing machines (3 types), CNC router and hand tools.
